Building a Crux Home is a straightforward process built around one big idea — that the exterior wall system is where building performance is won or lost. By manufacturing our own arches and using them as the foundation of every build, we eliminate complexity, reduce labor time, and deliver a better home at a price that makes sense.
Step 1 - Design
We start with your vision. Whether you choose one of our existing designs or work with us on something custom, we optimize every plan around the Crux Arch system to maximize performance and minimize cost.
Step 2 - Arch Manufacturing
Our arches are manufactured by us in Maine. Each arch is built to the specifications of your project. Depending on the size and complexity of your home, manufacturing typically takes a few weeks.
Step 3 - Framing
Once your arches arrive on site, framing of the shell of the building moves fast. A Crux Home can have a fully framed exterior in as little as 3 to 5 days — a fraction of the time of traditional construction. The arches do the heavy lifting, simplifying the build process while delivering walls with an R-value of 65. The arches also allow for the exterior to be finished while the interior framing continues. This is not possible with standard construction and can save a lot of time.
Step 4 - Completion
Once the arches are up, progress on building your home is completed with standard construction practices — mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and finishing — all executed with a high performance mindset.

How Does the Cost Compare?
A Crux Home is priced comparably to standard construction, but delivers performance that typically costs 40% to 100% more. Traditional high performance wall assemblies are complex, labor intensive, expensive and required workers that are familiar with advanced construction techniques.
Our arch system achieves superior insulation values through simplicity — a 16-inch deep wall that requires no exotic materials or specialized labor beyond what we manufacture ourselves.
The result is a home that costs about the same to build as a conventional home, but a fraction of the cost to heat and cool for as long as you own it.
